Week 2 Part B

BigHit Entertainment:

Description: BigHit Entertainment is one of the biggest music production companies in South Korea and is pretty much known all around the world. They create Idol groups (Singers) to create music and share their stories through music and entertainment. Thanks to their #1 Idol group, BTS, that they become one of the top music production studios in the world. 

Social Media: BigHit Entertainment shows their social media links at the bottom of their welcome page which includes, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. BigHit uses their social media frequently sense one of the places they release all of their content and news on is social media platforms.

• Posts a couple times a week

BigHit Entertainment relies heavily on their social media platforms sense a lot of their followers are international fans. They communicate very well with their customers, fans, and other businesses. When it comes to other businesses they do collaborate a lot so they show a lot of support for other businesses through their Twitter account. They do communicate the most on their Twitter account but post their main content on YouTube which explains why their YouTube account has the most followers.

Pixar Animation Studios:

Description: Pixar Animation Studios is a company that makes animated movies for entertainment. They are at the top when it comes to their movies and is known all around the world. They are popular for their movies, "Finding Nemo", "Toy Story", and "Cars".

Social Media: Pixar Animation Studios also relies on their social media to keep their fans on their toes for upcoming trailers and news for their movies. You can find their social media platforms also at the bottom of their welcome page.

Pixar communicates really well on social media from posting trailers to posting their own memes for relatable content or to make someone smile even if it's just for a second. They use all of their social media's a lot. I would say the only one they don't use as much as other is YouTube but they still post frequently on there.

JYP Entertainment:

Description: JYP Entertainment is also a South Korean music production company that creates Idol groups to become singers, dancers, etc. This company is also very famous around the world and has gained their popularity through their Kpop groups called, GOT7, Twice, and Stray Kids.

Social Media: JYP Entertainment relies just as heavily on their social media as BigHit Entertainment does. You can find their social media at the top right on the welcome page. They have Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Although they do not show they have an instagram account on their welcome page; you can find it on Instagram if you search for it.

JYP Entertainment does well at communicating with their customers and fans. They also do a good job at making fun posts and releasing cool teasers of upcoming projects. Although I do think they could utilize their Instagram more because Instagram does seem to be one of the most used apps.

Fantagio Entertainment:

Description: Fantagio is also another South Korean Music Production company that creates Idol groups. Although Fantagio Entertainment is one the smaller but successful companies compared to BigHit or JYP. Their most popular Idol group is called Astro.

Social Media: Fantagio lists their official social media account on the top right corner on their welcome page. They have Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

Fantagio does well when it comes to updating on news and their Idols upcoming side jobs. They also do well at keeping a nice theme on their pages. Although they could post more and give out more teasers because that could lead to a bigger following or even bring in new fans and/or customers. 

Viki Rakuten:

Description: Viki Rakuten is a national company. They provide people all around the world a service to watch their favorite Asian tv shows and movies without commercials and provides subtitles to people who don't speak the specified language. What is great about their service is that a subscription to get unlimited access to all their tv shows and movies is very affordable and worth it. They also create their own tv shows and movies. This company is very successful and popular around the world.

Social Media: Viki Rakuten does have social media that is shown at the very bottom of their main page which can be irritating to get to because you have to scroll past hundreds of shows to get to the bottom. They have Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

Viki Rakuten does a great job at Utilizing their social media pages. They do great at giving teasers or short clips of tv shows and/or movies to give their viewers new things to watch. When I was looking at how frequent they posted, a clip caught my eye on a new Korean tv show that was released on Viki and I couldn't help but get interested and went onto the app and watched the first two episodes already. The only thing that I am confused about is why the following count on their Twitter page is so low compared to their other social media platforms. That is something maybe the company would want to look into.

Conclusion:

    From what I have seen in the five businesses that I have analyzed is that how important social media is to businesses. Especially for entertainment businesses or companies that provide an online service. 

    From online services the only way to get customers and keep them is through social media accounts. You can't talk to your customers in person and you can't physically find them. I also find that even if you are able to get customers, you have to make sure you post frequently and posts entertaining content or else the customers will loose interest and leave. With that being said you company has to always be bringing out new things and new content which can be very hard if you have to post frequently.

    Social media is very important in a businesses success and should be taken seriously and carefully. Without good content or updates, your company will probably will never be noticed globally or maybe even nationally.
